Well now, here's a blast from the past (2006 to be exact - not that far back really). Just thought I'd stick up this old mix that I'd given out to a few friends back in the day...
Loads of nice deep house tunes on here that still sound cracking today, mixed on my old belt drives and CDJ500s (R.I.P). Starting with the much overlooked original of Tides, some classic Paper Recordings from back when Crazy P had a cock, a couple of anthems from Slam and Westbam, the obligatory slice of genius from C2, an obscure piece of kiwi deepness and a couple of nice ones from the dance giants Sasha and Orbital.

Episode 9 is contributed by Luke Barbour. An intriguing mix of drum and bass, dubstep, ambient, warped electronica, techno and house beats, this is Luke's first effort at creating a mix and reflects his varied and tasteful approach to electronic music. Well here we go with Episode 2....

This mix is contributed by a mysterious duo, known only as Ferret Weazel. Are they a Ferret and a Weasel DJ tag-team? A fight to the death between two of Nature's deadliest killing machines? Or some kind of genetic experiment gone hideously wrong? We may never know...

Where Episode 1 could have been the afterparty, Ferret Weazel take you straight back to the club, continuing on the deep and housey tip of Episode 1 but taking things a bit tougher and sweatier. Think Sankey's back when it was good...

Some excellent pumping beats and bass on this one. I don't think this is the last we'll be seeing of these two...

Hi, welcome to The Elm Tree.

I aim to bring you some musical treats in the form of DJ mixes by myself and friends.
There is no musical agenda, so if you feel like contributing, please give me a shout. I hope to cover a few different musical styles and would welcome any outlandish contributions. You can use my Soundloud dropbox on the right to send me a mix/tracks or just give me a shout.

Hopefully, people will be keen to share thoughts and feelings on the mixes, as it’s nice to pipe up when you like something.

At the least, the aim is to make some connections and share some music.

So this first episode is mixed by myself and as the name suggests, features some pretty tasty house cuts; some brand new, some a bit older, some deep disco vibes, some soulful sounds, some bumpin’ basslines, some jackin’, some smackin’, some pork cracklin’...
